How we evaluate

Our buying advice is source-led. Our limits should be as visible as our recommendations.

1. Define the job

We start with a specific activity, such as scanning recurring paperwork, printing shipping labels or collecting intake information. We identify the buyer's likely constraints before discussing a product.

2. Use primary sources

We consult manufacturer specifications, official product pages and vendor documentation. Where a detail can change quickly, such as a subscription limit or renewal price, we direct readers to the current official terms rather than presenting an evergreen number.

3. Explain fit and tradeoffs

A product enters a shortlist because it plausibly supports the stated task. We explain the compatibility, ownership or cost questions that could make it unsuitable. These are editorial judgments, not comparative performance measurements.

4. Be precise about testing

Our current guides do not contain hands-on testing. We have not measured the listed devices' speed, durability or image quality. Manufacturer claims are not our test results. We do not assign stars or performance scores without a documented basis.

5. Separate illustrations from evidence

Some category and workflow images are AI-generated editorial illustrations. They are labeled as illustrations and do not show the exact named products. They are not evidence of ownership, use or testing. Brand logos and names identify their respective owners.

6. State the review scope

An editorial update date records work on the article. It does not imply that every linked vendor plan has been rechecked. Where we verify a specific product detail, the guide states that scope. Uncertain or changing details remain explicit checks for the buyer.

7. Keep money separate from the recommendation

Affiliate links may support the site, but a commission does not validate a claim. We include uncompensated source links and do not sell shortlist positions. Read the affiliate disclosure for current link treatment.

Corrections

Our corrections channel is open to specific, source-supported concerns. We will assess the evidence and update inaccurate or unclear material where warranted.

Optional analytics

May we use Google Analytics to understand page visits and product-link clicks? Declining won't affect your access to our guides.
