When it makes sense
If cleaning food scraps out of a rigid drain basket is the part of washing up you dislike, this OXO strainer offers a different approach. Lift it by the center post and invert the flexible silicone basket over the trash, then clean it before putting it back.
Check before buying: Measure your drain opening and surrounding recess before buying; overall width is not a universal fit specification. This is a strainer, not a water-sealing stopper, and it does not replace clearing an existing blocked drain.
Which option fits?
- Choose this when
- You want to catch food scraps while water drains, and prefer an invertible basket to picking scraps out of a rigid one.
- Consider another option when
- You need to hold water for washing up. That calls for a compatible stopper, not this strainer. Neither fixes an existing blockage.
Before you order
- Measure the opening and the surrounding recess.
- The 4.4 by 4.4 by 1.6 inch measurements are overall dimensions, not a guaranteed drain fit.
- Lift the center post and turn the silicone basket inside out over the trash. It is dishwasher safe.
